SOUTHEND United midfielder Noor Husin is expected to miss Saturday’s trip to Aldershot Town.

Husin has been ruled out of the last two matches with a groin problem.

And Blues boss Kevin Maher is again likely to be without the 25-year-old this weekend.

“Noor is still a doubt but he should be doing some running today,” said Maher.

“He’s had a little bit of a bug as well but he should be getting back on the grass and fingers crossed next week he will be good.”

Shrimpers striker Callum Powell is doubtful with a knee problem he sustained against Gateshead on Saturday.

Blues’ top scorer has netted seven goals in 19 appearances this season and his injury could leave Maher short of striking options.

Rhys Murphy remains sidelined with an ankle injury while Jake Hyde is still unavailable due to a hamstring issue.

But the on loan Wrexham forward is starting to edge closer to a return.

“He’s been out doing some running with the physio John (Gowens),” said Maher.

“Fingers crossed by next week he will be a lot, lot closer.”

Dan Mooney is pushing for a start after scoring off the bench at Gateshead last time out while Maher must also assess how long Harry Cardwell can play as the striker continues his return from a long-term ankle problem.

Goalkeeper Steve Arnold is still out with a hip injury.
