SOUTHEND United goalkeeper Collin Andeng Ndi is facing an extended spell on the sidelines.

The shot-stopper had started the previous eight games for the Shrimpers.

But Blues boss Kevin Maher confirmed the 19-year-old was not available against Altrincham due to a hamstring injury.

“It looks like it’s a good period of time and it’s likely to be six to eight weeks,” said Maher.

“He did it at the end of training on Thursday which is obviously disappointing."

Blues are also without Steve Arnold who remains sidelined with a hip injury.

The shot-stopper was voted the Shrimpers’ player of the year last season.
