FORMER Southend United striker Charlie MacDonald has stepped down as manager of Barking.
MacDonald has guided Barking to eighth in the Essex Senior League standings.
But he is now relocating to Dubai.
In a statement on Twitter, he said: “I am saddened to announce that I’m stepping away from my first team manager role at Barking.
“A fantastic opportunity which hugely benefits my family has presented itself so we will be relocating to Dubai within the next few weeks.
“Very exciting times ahead but still leaves me with a sense of dissatisfaction as the project we’ve started here remains unfinished.”
MacDonald scored five goals in 34 games while with the Shrimpers before leaving in 2008
