A FUNDRAISING page has been set up to raise money for Darlington defender Paddy Almond.
The 20-year-old has been transferred to hospital in London after suffering a bleed on the brain during his side's FA Trophy tie at Southend United on Saturday.
And the Directors of Darlington Football Club Supporters Group have now created a Go Fund Me page to support their player.
A statement on the page said: "During Darlington Football Club’s match at Southend United, defender Paddy Almond came off in the second half and was rushed to hospital with suspected concussion.
"Following a brain scan at Southend Hospital, Paddy was diagnosed with a bleed on the brain.
"Paddy was transferred to Royal London Hospital at around midnight on Saturday. He remains under observation of specialists.
"The fundraiser is a token of support and also to help with out-of-pocket expenses for Paddy and his family.
"We wish Paddy a very, speedy recovery."
The page, which has raised almost £4,000, can be found here
