SOUTHEND United head to Braintree Town in the fourth round of the Essex Senior Cup tonight.

The Shrimpers had initially been due to host the tie but the match has been switched to Cressing Road to protect the Roots Hall pitch.

And Blues are expected to field both Gus Scott-Morriss and Jake Hyde in their starting line-up this evening,

Striker Hyde replaced Harry Cardwell in the dying seconds of Saturday’s 2-1 win against Darlington having previously been out of action since October with a hamstring injury.

Right wing-back Scott-Morriss has not featured since having his appendix removed after being taken unwell on Christmas Day.

However, he should be back in against tonight against the Iron while left-back Tom Clifford is also expected to play.

The winners of this evening’s game will head to Colchester United in the quarter-finals.
