JACK Bridge says Southend United will head to Oldham Athletic on a high this weekend.

The Shrimpers are unbeaten in their last three games.

And Bridge wants to keep the good run going by picking up more points against the Latics.

“We’ve got a nice run going now and we want to continue that,” said Bridge.

“We’re in good spirits, we’re confident and playing good football.

“We played well against Darlington last week.

“We were unlucky not to score earlier on and win the game a bit more comfortably than we did.

“Fair play to them, they made it difficult and it nearly went to penalties but a but of quality from Noor (Husin) and Cards (Harry Cardwell) got us the win.”

Blues will now be bidding for more of the same at Boundary Park.

And Bridge is desperate for the game to go ahead.

“We want the game on because we want to keep the momentum going,” said Bridge.

“We’ll be going there looking to win “Every team in this league can beat anyone.

“It’s a crazy league but if we turn up and play like we can I think we’ll do well.”

Oldham, who were relegated from League Two last season, are currently 20th in the standings.

And Bridge feels that again shows how tough it is to succeed in the National League.

“From the outside I don’t think you realise how good this league can be and how tough it can be either,” said Bridge.

“You see that when teams come down and don’t necessarily do as well as everyone thinks.

“It’s credit to us where we are in the league and want to keep it going.

“There’s a good feeling amongst us.

“We know we’ve got a good group and good spirit about us.”
