THE Shrimpers Trust are urging Southend United to reveal how they will pay off their HMRC debt.

Blues - who have until the start of March to pay off their large tax bill - have stayed silent since appearing in the High Court last Wednesday.

The lack of clarity has annoyed supporters and led to the Trust releasing a statement

It read: "We have managed to communicate with the club's hierarchy and we remain frustrated by the apparent lack of understanding about supporters' worries at a critical time.

"We understand the club intend to release a statement but, given the importance of the current situation to the future of the club, we believe this is already overdue and implore the owner to address our concerns.

"Members of the Shrimpers Trust Board intend to meet with supporters' groups imminently and, whilst we monitor message boards and social media regularly, we welcome the direct input of all fans via email or our website."

Blues chairman Ron Martin has not responded to the Echo's request for a comment.
