SOUTHEND United are looking to extend Blondy Nna Noukeu’s loan spell from Stoke City.

The shot-stopper has started the last six matches for the Shrimpers.

And, with Collin Andeng Ndi and Steve Arnold both still out injured, Blues boss Kevin Maher is keen for Nna Noukeu to remain at Roots Hall beyond the end of the month when his current deal expires.

“That’s something we will be looking to do,” said Maher.

“It’s ongoing as we speak.”

Arnold has been out since August with a hip injury while Andeng Ndi has not played since November due to a hamstring problem.

And the duo are still working their way back to full fitness.

“Collin and Arnie have been out training on the grass but they’re still a bit off in terms of being able to play,” said Maher.

“They’ve both been out quite a while and they’re not ready to play games as of yet.”

Blues remain in a transfer embargo due to a winding up petition issued by HMRC however it is understood clubs without a senior goalkeeper available are still able to bring in a shot-stopper if required.
