FORMER Southend United striker Tom Hopper has joined Colchester United.
Hopper scored 10 goals in 30 games for Blues between 2018 and 2020 when he joined Lincoln City for £150,000.
However, Hopper - who still lives in Essex - has now opted to join the U's.
Colchester head coach Matt Bloomfield said: “He’s someone who I’ve known for a number of years.
“He’s someone who I’ve admired playing against when he was at Southend and at Lincoln.
“It’s similar with Matty Jay and Arthur Read.
"It’s funny how you come across these players over a number of years and you’ve always admired from afar for a number of years and then suddenly, there’s an opportunity at Colchester to sign them.
“I was really, really pleased to take that opportunity.
