FORMER Southend United loanee Britt Assombalonga has seen his career go full circle after returning to Watford.

Assombalonga scored 16 goals in 46 appearances for the Shrimpers, while on loan from Watford, during the 2012/13 season before going on to become a regular goalscorer elsewhere.

The forward netted 33 goals for Peterborough United the following season before joining Nottingham Forest for £5.5 million in 2014.

During a three year spell with Forest, Assombalonga scored 30 goals in 69 appearances and he was then snapped up by Middlesbrough for £15.5million.

The forward netted 47 goals in 161 games before being released in 2021 and he has since been playing for Adana Demirspor in Turkey.

However, the 30-year-old has now signed a six month deal with Watford and could make his debut at Reading this weekend.
