SOUTHEND United are unable to add a new goalkeeper to their squad due to the constraints of their transfer embargo.
Rules around the goalkeeping position have been known to be more relaxed when in an embargo, providing the player being signed was not on more money than the one he was replacing.
But, Blues – who have been in an embargo since September due to a HMRC winding up petition – cannot bring in a new shot-stopper Echosport understands.
Shrimpers head coach Kevin Maher now has two options and could extend the loan of Blondy Nna Noukeu from Stoke City or opt to recall Collin Andeng Ndi.
However, Andeng Ndi has not played since injuring his hamstring in November and has also recently resumed training.
Blues are back in action against York City at Roots Hall on Saturday.
