BLUES boss Kevin Maher has been angered by Scunthorpe United’s public pursuit of Rhys Murphy.
The Iron’s owner David Hilton took to social media to reveal Blues would not let the forward leave.
And Maher feels transfer talks should not be made so open.
“The way they’ve been handling it has been poor,” said the Shrimpers head coach.
“I understand that things do get out but to go on Twitter and post it like that it seems like they’re trying to unsettle our player.
“It’s especially disappointing coming from a club who have had their own problems so recently, like ourselves.”
Murphy, who has been with Blues since the summer of 2021, will be in the squad for Saturday’s match with York City.
And Maher added Scunthorpe’s offer was nowhere near acceptable.
“They made a derisory offer,” said Maher.
“I don’t want to lose any players and I don’t think the offer was anywhere near acceptable from our point of view.”
