SOUTHEND United have enough medical cover to stage tomorrow’s FA Trophy clash with York City.

Fans had feared the game might not take place after St John Ambulance withdrew their support due to the Shrimpers falling behind with their payment plan.

But a source close to the club has assured Echosport the Shrimpers have ‘more than enough’ first aiders for the game to take place as normal.

Blues take on the Minstermen at Roots Hall looking to work their way into the quarter-finals of the competition.

However, St John Ambulance will not be in attendance.

A spokesperson said: “The charity has worked closely with the football club to come to an agreement regarding payment but, to date, despite many attempts that has not been possible".
