SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Saturday's 2-0 defeat to York City in the FA Trophy.

Thought we were better first half than second until the subs. Powell and Hyde didn't work at all. Blondy had a good first half and made a terrific penalty save, such a shame two messy goals cost us. Only Miley, Taylor and Hobson seemed up for the fight throughout.

@Kaylalula

Bad day at the office all round. Out played, out thought and out worked by York. Improved after conceding but never really threatened. Even the atmosphere was the worst of the season. Need to put it behind us and bounce back on Tuesday.

@DanDobisz

Two moments of concentration lapse with Lopata off the pitch for the first and following the penalty save for the second. Some very good saves from Blondy, but ultimately a lack of attacking threat until the subs were made late in the game.

@GoneShrimping

Players played like they hadn't been pain for months

@therealdaddsy

ork fully deserved the win, could have been 5-0. Understand Maher making changes, bigger picture and all that. All down to Martin now to find the money to keep us going, but for how long?

@molyneux_dave

Fantastic performance from Blondy today. The rest of the players were poor and we looked like a side not being paid, dejected, second to everything and did nothing with the possession we had. Chance to progress gone which is a shame as had a glorious chance of a Wembley visit

@dan_mays86

That was most likely one of the worst atmospheres I've ever experienced in years at Roots Hall today. Pure silence from Blues fans, we seemed miles away from it today. Just really depressing to be honest.

@lillatimer

Change of line-up did us no favours. Taylor, Blondy and Hobson three best. Suffered up front where Powell got nothing, Hyde was roughed up. Disjointed show, no shots on target. Something needs doing about time wasting and keepers cheating the system!

@charles_colin

Blondy played out of his skin. However we just never got going. Scared to think this could be the end of my beloved club. May not have a club but will always be a blue.

@McilveneyJay

Wasnt the result we wanted but the team and staff continue to work whilst being disrespected from above. Proud of their attitude and hopefully have more than a couple of chances to see them again!

@andyduncan1987

Disappointing result but a midfield 3 of Miley, Fonguck and Taylor was unlikely to be an attacking threat to the opposition. However, have to accept the need to rotate the team will the upcoming schedule. Just demonstrates a lack of depth in the squad. Bounce back on Tuesday?
