SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher knows Halifax Town will be looking to take advantage of the Shrimpers’ turmoil tonight.
Blues will head into the game without having been paid for February.
But Maher – whose side are sixth in the National League standings – is trying to keep his focus on football.
“We’re back in the league action and we’re still in a good position in the play-offs,” said Maher.
“It’s a tough game and I think anyone coming to us at the moment will think they’ve got a chance when they look at everything around it.
“They will try and take advantage but we have to stay focused on the football.
“That’s all we can control.”
Halifax visit Roots Hall having triumphed just once in their last seven league games and sit 15th in the table.
But Maher is still expecting a stern test.
“They’re a decent side and when I’ve watched them their performances have been good,” said Maher.
“We need to be on our game and make sure we implement our game plan on them.
“That’s what we will be looking to do and we’ll be ready for another difficult test.”
