ECHOSPORT talks to Halifax Town fan Luke Walsh ahead of tonight's match with Southend United

Halifax are currently 15th in the table so what have you made of the season so far?

"Overall I feel it’s been a poor season to put it bluntly, considering our current position compared to the three previous seasons.

"I personally thought this squad had the potential to make the play-offs but that hasn’t been the case.

"We lack consistency and have struggled to gain any major momentum which will probably be our downfall come the end of the season."

It’s one win in seven games in the league. Why have things not been going so well lately?

"The major factor is, we’ve been unfortunate with injuries, especially considering those injuries have been towards key players such as Spence, Summerfield and Warburton who are all midfielders.

"Without a settled midfield it’s really difficult to make the whole team click, which we haven’t done in recent weeks."

What are your hopes for the rest of the season?

"Hopes wise, it’s difficult considering prior to Christmas I felt the squad had the ability to make the play-offs.

"However with the amount of key injuries and lack of consistency within the side, I feel it’s looking more like a mid-table finish."

Who is the dangerman?

"Like I’ve mentioned the majority of our key players are out injured, although in recent week Millie Ali, seems to be causing the opposition a few issues, scoring against Barnet last week.

"He’s a fast skilful winger that’s really coming out of his shell and looking better and better each week."

What's the team news?

"Three new players have been brought into the side in January.

"Those being Max Wright, Adam Senior, Fidel O’Rouke, who have all impressed me so far.

"Like I have mentioned, Matty Warburton, Kian Spence, Luke Summerfield have all been out injured.

"Jamie Cook and Tom Clarke just another two names to add to the long list of injuries."
