NOOR Husin was hurt by Southend United’s midweek defeat at Notts County but has already turned his attentions to bouncing back this weekend.

Blues - who were beaten 4-0 by the table-topping Magpies - head to Torquay United on Saturday.

And Husin is eager to help the Shrimpers get back on track.

“It’ was a tough one to take (on Tuesday) and they’re a very good side who will go on and win it but that won’t define our season,” said Husin.

“It felt bad but we’ve got to regroup and get the three points at the weekend.

“That’s all we’re focusing on now.”

The Shrimpers headed to Meadow Lane having triumphed in their previous four league games.

But Blues - whose players have yet to be paid in 2023 - remain sixth in the standings and will continue to stick together, according to Husin.

“Considering everything going on I think we’re in a very good position,” said Husin.

“Against Notts County it showed the level of the top team and hopefully we can get there as well.

“We know our aim is to finish in the play-offs and that’s what we’ll focus on.

“We’ll go again on Saturday and we’ll stay together until the end “Staying together hasn’t been difficult because we’re a good group.

“We’ll stay together until the end and hopefully at the end of the season we’ll be in those play off positions.”

And the supporters - who backed Blues in big numbers again at Meadow Lane on Tuesday night - will also have a big part to play.

“The fans were incredible and they have been all season,” said Husin.

“It shows the unity we have with the fans and the players and hopefully they keep backing us until the end of the season.”

Torquay are currently third from bottom in the table.
