STOKE City have recalled goalkeeper Blondy Nna Noukeu from his loan spell at Southend United.
The shot-stopper made 17 appearances while with the Shrimpers, who he joined in September.
But Blues boss Kevin Maher confirmed Nna Noukeu will now be heading back to the Championship club.
“We got a phone call this morning,” said Maher.
“Stoke have got an injury and recalled Blondy but they’ve been brilliant and we thank them.
“Blondy has done well as a young keeper in difficult circumstances at times.
“He showed great character and we thank him for his time.”
Stoke goalkeeper Matija Sarkic had to be taken off at half-time against Sunderland on Saturday and was replaced by Jack Bonham between the sticks.
Nna Noukeu has now also been recalled to provide further cover and competition for the goalkeeping position.
