SOUTHEND United fans have their say on Tuesday night's 2-1 defeat to Chesterfield
Can’t play for 30 minutes and expect to get anything out of a game. But no lack of effort again, just felt like the heads had dropped. Wonder if Ron has finally broken them this time, pray he hasn’t but it’s worrying.
@samgoody23
We looked a tired team with players being rushed back from injury who aren’t anywhere near to being match ready. Their strength in depth highlights how weak we are in comparison. Cheers Ron.
@Jones616Kevin
Cannot blame Ron for that. Players weren’t good enough, sloppy in possession. Bridge too predictable. Not enough crosses into the box. Subs added a spark but Chesterfield bosses us and dictated play similar to Barnet. Look low in confidence. Great to see Steve back in goal.

Feels like all the issues hitting the club having its effect on the pitch now. An under strength squad with a number of half fit players are trying their best but struggling. Main positive were the returning players, particularly Cardwell. But this is looking a very tough month.
@Moorhouse79
First half we were poor, very slow on possession and second to every ball also had no co-ordination at the back. Took for us to be 2-0 before we found our feet and could find a pass. The 11 that finished the game should be the 11 to start on Saturday.
@KetchleyShane
Bubble's well and truly burst, losing the icing on the cake. Season over. Four points off play offs yet Friday we were looking at fourth. Fully expect to be pumped by Wrexham and the Blues drift down the table. Reality of the situation we are in.
@BigSmivz93
Chesterfield played some decent football and they pressed us hard first half. We weren’t bad (save a few wayward passes) but we are short of options and they just had too much for us. Frustrating night.
@Raycrud
Embargo or not, surely there has to be something else we can try other than get the ball to Bridge every time? Wreh and Mooney have to start on Saturday.
@LiamGlover_
Ineptitude of our owner has killed a promising season. All so sadly predictable Martin Out.
@djmikejolly
Just wasn't very good was it? Not really sure it's one of those ones you can elaborate on. Just not at it on the day.
@ShaunMalone1997
So flat once again in the first half, we had no attacking outlet.Bridgey was turning in and out with no end product but when subs came on it was too little too late but the three subs were definitely positives and they should all start on Saturday.
@euniesufc
We look tired, not surprised as mentally been through a lot. All other teams can add, Chesterfield signed three in the last few weeks. We can’t sign anyone. The players give their all. Better players are coming back, so get Wrexham out the way and hope for a strong finish.
@SibthorpeMark
Can't fault the effort, Cardwell and Wreh looked good up top. Chesterfield strengthened with McCallum, Dallas and Colclough when they needed to. We can't, thanks Ron.
