ECHOSPORT talks to Altrincham fan Jake Worrall ahead of Saturday's match with Southend United.

Altrincham are currently 13th in the table. What have you made of the season so far?

"It’s been a season very similar to a typical Alty one.

"Long runs of poor form followed by periods where we look unbeatable.

"Considering the start of the season and where we sit now in 13th, I’m very happy with how the season has gone, especially with us being one win away from Wembley in the Trophy."

What were the targets for the season and what do you still feel you can achieve?

"With this being the first full season in a full time model, I think the target was to stay up to be able to let us keep building for future seasons.

"With a current mid-table situation and a Trophy semi-final I think the club can say they have met these targets.

"Hopefully we can finish strong in the top half of the table and win a third FA Trophy."

Southend winger Dan Mooney will be back at Altrincham this weekend. How was he viewed by your fans?

"Mooney was a gem of a player for us at times but also quite inconsistent leading to him being frustrating for fans at time.

"However he clearly possessed good technical ability.

"His decision to leave to a club at a similar level to us, with much less stability, seemed a strange one at the time and I feel has been proven right with the difficulties he and the club have faced.

"He’s a player that is definitely best off the right wing, cutting in on his left."

Who is the dangerman?

"In terms of goals Regan Linney is the danger man, he has recently joined and has already impressed for us, however Jordan Hulme is in a fine run of form.

"In terms of our star player, Isaac Marriott will be a nightmare for the Southend midfield to deal with as I feel he has the best ball winning skills in the league."

What's the team news?

The team is much different to that when we last played Southend, with us losing our star players in January. However smart recruitment has put us back in a strong position. There appears to be no recent injuries, with just Koyslo still out which has been a big miss for us all season. I do anticipate Parkinson may rest some players though with the very important semi final vs Halifax coming up.
