HENRY Sandat has confirmed he is leaving Southend United.

Echosport revealed earlier tonight how the 18-year-old is closing in on a switch to Championship club Hull City.

And the striker has now taken to social media to reveal he is moving on from Roots Hall.

Writing on Instagram, Sandat said: "With a heavy heart and due to circumstances it’s time for me to leave SUFC.

"I believe it is the right decision for my development and to hopefully further my career.

"I have had an amazing nine years at the club as I’ve progressively made my way up from the under 9’s to making my debut.

"I’m extremely grateful for the experience I’ve had at my hometown club.

"I’d like to thank everyone associated with the club, especially the coaching staff, players and fans for being part of my journey.

"I wish the club the best of luck for the upcoming season and I really hope the club gets back to where it deserves to be.

"Thank you Shrimpers!"

Sandat scored once in 12 first team appearances last season.
