SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher is monitoring the fitness of Jack Bridge ahead of Saturday’s match at Halifax Town.

Bridge suffered an ankle problem during Blues’ 2-1 against Kidderminster Harriers at Roots Hall last weekend.

And Maher will continue to play close attention to the wing-back before deciding whether or not to select him at the Shay Stadium.

“We've had to monitor him this week and we'll see how he is going into training tomorrow,” said Maher.

“He's one we have to be aware of.”

However, the Shrimpers will still be without defender Louis Lomas who has yet to feature this season due to a groin problem.

“He’s still with the physios jogging and he's still quite a way off,” added Maher.
