ECHOSPORT talks to Halifax Town fan Luke Walsh ahead of Saturday's match with Southend United.

Halifax are currently sixth in the table. What have you made of the start of the season?

"Overall it’s been a good start to the season.

"Of course there’s still areas that I feel we need to improve on but we’re in a strong position at the moment and are looking organised and solid at the back."

Can the start be maintained and what are your hopes for this season?

"Personally my aim at the start of every season is for ourselves to finish inside the play-off spots.

"I think from what I’ve seen so far is that the squad has the capabilities to compete for those play-off spots this season."

Have there been many changes in the squad since last season?

"The majority of the new signings look good so far for Halifax.

"Jack Evans has been a standout in the midfield who we signed from Hereford and he brings energy to the midfield.

"We’ve also signed Andrew Oluwabori who looks good on the right hand side.

"Of course Debrah seemed to be a big loss when he departed in the summer however Cummings who’s come into the team as a replacement looks like a perfect replacement at the back.

"The major lost we had was Manni D (Emmanuel Dieseruvwe) and it has shown so far with the amount of chances we haven’t been able to take."

Who is the dangerman?

"Millie Alli seems to be the man that’s making things happen this season with his pace and end product.

"However Oluwabori looks sharp but unlike Millie Alli he hasn’t been able to produce any goals yet however I’m confident that will come."
