WESTCLIFF suffered a 45-21 defeat at Old Northamptonians.
Westcliff have now been beaten in their opening two games of the Regional One South East season.
And head coach Jimmy Rea was frustrated his side could not make more of their pressure in their latest setback.
“We got off to a great start again, scoring first, but didn’t sustain our dominance,” said Rea.
“We spent 36 per cent of the game inside their 22 but just couldn’t convert.
“I think after two very difficult years, we are so excited to be in the opposition 22 we get in our own way!
“But the really exciting thing is that we are only one pass away from absolutely soaring.”
