SOUTHEND United will continue to monitor Callum Powell's fitness ahead of Saturday's clash with AFC Fylde at Roots Hall.
Powell was a big doubt with a groin injury for Tuesday night's match with Maidenhead United but was eventually passed fit enough to be on the bench.
However, the forward has yet to resume training and will again have his fitness assessed ahead of this weekend' match.
Blues boss Kevin Maher said: "Powelly had a groin problem off the back of last Saturday.
"He didn't train Monday but said he would do a job for us off the bench and come on.
"He's another one we're monitoring and there's little training going on."
With Powell on the bench Blues had a squad of 13 for Tuesday's game but Maher does have defender Harry Taylor back from suspension this weekend.
