CAV Miley insists Southend United’s players do not have time to worry about the club’s off-field issues.

The Shrimpers continue to face an incredibly uncertain future.

But Miley remains focused on picking up points and felt Kevin Maher’s side did not deserve Saturday’s 2-1 defeat against AFC Fylde at Roots Hall.

“It was a tough game and they were a good side to be fair but I still feel like we should’ve come away with the minimum of a point,” said Miley.

“Just before their second goal I thought we were in control and we looked the team who were going to get the winner.

“But we turned over possession and they caught us on the break.”

The defeat sent the Shrimpers back to the foot of the table.

But Miley is already focusing on Tuesday’s trip to Aldershot Town rather than the club’s extreme financial difficulties.

“Hopefully we get out of it all sooner rather than later but we'll go to Aldershot looking to get a result and that’s our focus,” said Miley.

“We don't have time to sit and worry about what's going on around us.

“We know where we are in the table and we've got to start getting results.”

That quest will continue against the Shots.

And Miley is confident Blues have enough in their small squad to soon get back to winning ways.

“We train all week and we know what we've got,” said Miley.

“In my opinion we're good enough to beat any team in this league here.

“It's tough but we don't look at it like that.

“We know our jobs and we've all been here a long time now.

“We're good enough to beat anyone here and we will be bounce back.”

Miley will also be looking to help that happen.

And he is more than happy to continue at left-sided centre-back if required.

“It's a little bit different but we work so hard all week we all know the roles,” said Miley.

“I don’t think we were poor today and we’ll keep trying our best to make sure we get results.”
