SOUTHEND United are assessing their review options after seeing their initial plans to wipe out their 10 point deduction fail.

The Shrimpers were docked points after failing to pay off their HMRC debt before a deadline set by the National League.

But Blues are now mulling over what to do next.

A source close to the club confirmed: “The hearing of the club’s application to reinstate the points that were deducted was dismissed and the club is now reviewing its appeal review options.”

The Shrimpers are currently at the foot of the table but would be eighth without the points deduction.
