SOUTHEND United are facing another player shortage ahead of Saturday’s FA Cup clash at Yeovil Town.

Defender Brooklyn Kabongolo and midfielder Mauro Vilhete are both cup tied for the fourth qualifying round tie at Huish Park while midfielder Noor Husin is away on international duty with Afghanistan.

Defenders Nathan Ralph (ankle) and Louis Lomas (groin) are both still sidelined while midfielder Dan Mooney has yet to resume training after suffering a thigh injury.

Striker Callum Powell (knee) remains a long-term absentee while goalkeepers David Martin (hamstring) and Collin Andeng Ndi (ankle) are also unavailable.

Shot-stopper Nick Hayes has been given permission to play by his parent club Ipswich Town but Blues remain in talks with Charlton Athletic as to whether or not on loan striker Daniel Kanu can feature.

The Shrimpers are also seeking clarification on if players from the under 19 side can be added to the squad for this weekend's game while a key player, Maher did not want to reveal, is a doubt.
