SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher was impressed with 16-year-old Beau MacDonald on his Shrimpers debut at Yeovil Town.
MacDonald became the fourth youngest player in Blues’ history when replacing Dan Mooney just before the break at Huish Park.
And Maher was pleased with how the midfielder performed in the 2-0 defeat.
“He's got loads of energy and loads of legs,” said Maher.
“He put himself about, especially at the start of the second half once we spoke to him at half-time.
“He made forward runs and credit to him I thought he did ever so well.”
