ROMFORD have announced they will be playing their home fixtures from the start of November at East Thurrock United's Rookery Hill ground.

The Rocks were liquidated at the start of September.

And Romford will now be switching to play at their stadium.

Club chair Steve Gardener’s, via a statement on the club's website said: "This is the start of an exciting chapter for the club and one which we hope supporters, existing and new will embrace.

"For the first time since the club's reformation we will have a ground that we can call our own for the foreseeable future.

"With the support of fans and the local community we look to grow the support, the club, and to continue with the growth of the club, and supporting the local community.

"We have waited a long time for somewhere we could use as a base, for events, somewhere permanent we could call home.

"We have been very happy at Barking FC but the opportunity to have a facility the supporters can make their own, and feel it belongs to Romford FC was an opportunity we couldn’t miss.

"It will require hard work, require more volunteers but is the first stepping stone towards the club's long term ambitions."

Romford are currently fourth in the Essex Senior League and plan to play at Rookery Hill for the first time on Saturday November 4 when they take on Ilford.
