THERE was success for Canvey Island and Billericay Town in the Isthmian Premier League on Tuesday night.

Canvey moved seventh in the standings with an entertaining 3-2 win against second placed Chatham Town at the Movie Starr Stadium.

The Gulls broke the deadlock after just five minutes with Bradley Sach on target before the visitors hit back to lead 2-1 at the break, thanks to goals from Chris Dickson and Jamie Yila.

However, Canvey were able to work their way back into the game in the second half and, in the 58th minute, Chatham's Alex Brefo was shown a second yellow card after bringing down Joe Paxman in the area.

Conor Hubble levelled the scores from the resulting spot-kick before Sach secured all three points 11 minutes from time with his second goal of the night.

Canvey will now be looking for a third league win in succession when they take on Hashtag United Elsewhere on Tuesday night, Billericay Town bagged a 2-0 win against Carshalton Athletic at New Lodge.

Ade Azeez broke the deadlock for Billericay after just six minutes before Bradley Stevenson completed the scoring late on.

Town are now third in the table and head to Wingate & Finchley this weekend.

In the Essex Senior League, White Ensign secured an impressive 1-0 win at fifth placed White Essex.

The victory saw Ensign move up to 13th.
