IYIOLA Adebayo feels White Ensign have been brought together by their FA Vase run this season.

Ensign head to Walsham Le Wallows in the third round of the Vase this weekend.

But Adebayo already believes Ensign have been boosted by reaching this stage of the competition.

“Cup runs are always special and really bring the group together,” said Adebayo.

“We’ve been able to show our ability to deal with adversity in tough times and also show our quality in big moments.

“We’re taking it one game at a time but we believe if we bring our best there’s no reason we can’t go all the way.”

And Adebayo will be taking that attitude into Saturday’s encounter.

“This weekend myself and the team expect the same thing we always do when we turn up to a play a game of football, to win, “said Adebayo .

“We don’t underestimate our opponents but we believe in the work we’ve put in and the quality we have in the side puts us in a good position to beat whoever’s in front of us.

“Our games are always entertaining too so at the very least we can guarantee a decent spectacle for fans.”

Ensign are currently 14th in the Essex Senior League table having picked up 25 points from 19 games.

And Adebayo continues to be impressed by Ensign’s endeavour. “The word that comes to mind is togetherness,” said Adebayo .

“We’ve obviously been on a great cup run and our league results have been a mixed bag but I’m sure everyone can see that as a team we always leave it all out there.

“Win or lose, the work rate and desire to put our best foot forward is always there which is always a sign of a team that can do good things.”

Adebayo has also impressed for Ensign when available and continues to relish his role in the centre of the park.

“For me personally it has been an enjoyable season,” said Adebayo .

“My biggest focus was aiming to stay fit and be available to help the team.

“I’ve been able to do that so far this season which has allowed me to enjoy my football which has led me to being in good form so far.”

But Adebayo remains eager for more.

“Our hopes for the season are to finish as high as we can and continue our cup runs,” said Adebayo .

“It’s important to take it game by game because in football form fluctuates and things change quick so to be honest all focus is always just on the next game and next opponent.

“If we put in the performances we believe we can then hopefully we’ll end up with some success to end our season.”

Adebayo is keen to help that happen and continue to show the promise he first displayed when with Hashtag United.

“My non-league journey started at Hashtag United,” said Adebayo.

“It’s a club I have a lot of love for and a lot of fond memories with the great people over there.

“Unfortunately I didn’t have the best injury luck and, with the nature of the game, that made it difficult to get consistent game time.

“I still learnt a lot in the time I spent there and have brought a lot of that experience to Ensign with me.

“I spent a spell on loan at Ensign at the end of last season from Hashtag and me and the club clicked instantly on and off the pitch.

“When it was time to move on from Hashtag there was no other place that felt more right to come to.

“Hope to continue doing good things here going forward
