SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher says this weekend’s match at Oxford City might come too soon for Oli Coker.

The Blues midfielder has missed four of the last five games with a thigh problem.

And Maher is unsure if Coker will be available again this weekend.

“He had a little setback at the back end of last week but he's been back out doing work again,” said Maher.

“We're monitoring him and we'll see how he is.

“The weekend might come a bit too soon but we'll keep an eye on it.”

However, the Shrimpers will definitely be without defender Harry Taylor who has a hamstring issue.

“He’s had a scan because he had a lot of bruising around the hamstring,” said Maher.

“We’re waiting on the results of that to tell us how long it will be.”
