BILLERICAY Town were beaten 2-1 by Horsham at New Lodge in the Isthmian Premier Division.
Frankie Merrifield fired third placed Town in front but the visitors hit back to triumph and are now outside the play-offs on goal difference with games in hand.
Hashtag United, who are 12th, drew 0-0 at fourth placed Wingate & Finchley while there was disappointment for both Canvey Island and Concord Rangers.
Canvey lost 3-2 at struggling Margate with Lance Akins and Bradley Sach on target for the Gulls while Concord were beaten 2-1 at home by Dulwich Hamlet.
Kehinde Ailero netted for the Beach Boys who are 20th in the table seven points from safety with games in hand on those above them.
In Isthmian North, Bowers & Pitsea slipped to fifth in the table after losing 3-1 to table-topping Lowestoft Town at the Len Salmon Stadium.
Matt Price bagged a late consolation for Bowers who had defender Luke Reeve sent off 10 minutes into the second half when 1-0 down.
However, there was no match for Basildon United who saw their scheduled clash at Enfield postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.
In the Essex Senior League, seventh placed Hullbridge Sports lost 4-0 at home to third placed Romford while White Ensign, who are 15th, were beaten 3-2 at Saffron Walden Town.
Eze Bademosi and Henry Hart scored for Ensign.
