SOUTHEND United defender Ollie Kensdale will miss the next few matches for the Shrimpers.

Kensdale suffered a fracture below his right eye during the 4-1 win against Aldershot Town last weekend.

And Blues boss Kevin Maher is expecting to be without the centre-back for at least the next fortnight.

“He's got another appointment on Thursday,” said Maher.

“That’s getting a mask done but he’s going to have to be non-contact for a little while.

“I don’t want to put a date on it but it will be at least a couple of weeks.”

Kensdale has missed the last two matches for the Shrimpers having previously started every match this season.
