BOWERS & Pitsea face their second crunch clash in the space of just four days tonight.

Fifth placed Bowers saw off Bury Town, who sit immediately above them in Isthmian North, 1-0 on Saturday.

And match-winner Matt Price is now targetting more of the same against third placed Brentwood Town, his former team, this evening.

"I'm really excited for the game," said Price.

"It’s a big game in terms of pushing for a home play off and you always want to play against the better teams to prove why you are where you are.

"To be honest there’s no extra spice for me.

"I’m at Bowers now and we’ve got targets that we want to hit and that’s all that’s on my mind."

Price and his team-mates will head into this evening's encounter on a high after Saturday's success.

But the forward felt the win was no more important than any other success secured this season.

"It was a massive win but to be honest it’s no bigger win than any other this season," said Price.

"Going into the game we knew that it was just another game and that they’d been on a great run but the fact we were the last team to take points off them gave us that little edge and maybe gave us that bit more confidence."

But, despite the victory, Price still feels Bowers are not being taken seriously.

"A lot of people are saying they want us in the play offs and that they aren’t worried about Bowers etc," said Price.

"That’s great for us as we can just keep going about our business and fly under the radar.

"But the league table doesn’t lie and we deserve to be where we are currently."

And Price thought that was shown on Saturday.

"It was a good game at the weekend and I felt like we dominated it," said the forward.

"I lost my nan on the Friday before the game.

"I spoke to one of the lads but didn’t tell anyone and just said I be got a good feeling about today.

"So to score the winner was like it was meant to be."

But Price now wants the win to be the sign of things to come as Bowers bid to secure a top five finish.

"Obviously our main aim now, being realistic, is to get into the play-offs," said Price.

"But in non league you never know what’s round the corner so we’ll just take one game at a time and keep going about our business.

"In seven or eight games time at the end of the season we will assess where we are at but we’ve massively over achieved already this season if we're being honest.

"We don’t have a massive budget and all praise to the gaffer really, he’s built a very good young side."

And Price is also enjoying playing his part in James' Collins' side "I’m going to sound like I’m brown nosing the gaffer here but when we spoke back in October time I think it was, and we spoke about me coming in, I felt like he gave me a chance," said Price.

"He sort of took a bit of a gamble on me with everything that was going on around me at the time.

"He said to me that he’ll get me back enjoying it and my word has he.

" I’ve loved my time at the club so far and it’s down to him and the way he’s treated me and managed me.

"I’m just hoping come the end of the season I can repay him."

Elsewhere in Isthmian North tonight, eighth placed Basildon United host fourth placed Bury Town.

In the Isthmian Premier Division, bottom of the table Concord Rangers go to table-topping Hornchurch.

In the Essex Senior League, 12th placed Great Wakering Rovers head to Frenford who are 18th.
