GREAT Wakering Rovers warmed up for this weekend’s FA Vase semi-final by beating Frenford 3-1 at Burroughs Park.

Tony Martin bagged his first two goals for Rovers in the win while Danny Cossington was also on target.

The victory saw Rovers move 11th in the Essex Senior League standings with games in hand on all of the teams above them.

But attention will now turn towards Saturday’s rearranged Vase clash against Worcester City.

The first leg of the semi-final was postponed last weekend due to a waterlogged pitch but has now been rearranged for Saturday at the Sixways Stadium.

The second leg will take place at Burroughs Park next weekend with the winners on aggregate facing either Romford or Lincoln United in the final at Wembley.
