IN-FORM Bowers & Pitsea head to fellow play-off hopefuls Brentwood Town on Tuesday night.

Bowers make the short trip having triumphed in their past seven matches.

And Bowers’ Benas Vaivada is expecting an entertaining encounter between two strong sides.

“We know Brentwood are a good side who have quality players and are also heading into this game in good form,” said Vaivada.

“No team is coming on Tuesday to lose so it should be an entertaining fixture.”

Bowers head into the rearranged clash sitting fourth in the table, four points clear of fifth placed Brentwood having played a game more.

Both sides look certain to end the season in the play-offs and Vaivada is proud of how well Bowers have been playing.

“The team has been amazing and going on such a run is not easy so credit to everyone from the team to the management to the fans to everyone who is involved in us being able to be on that pitch every week,” said Vaivada.

“Of course winning builds confidence but we are a group that don’t get ahead of ourselves and understand how important these upcoming games are so we are fully focused on them without thinking too much about anything else.”

Bowers will be fired up to win again tonight having led 1-0 in the original clash between the two teams last month before wet weather forced the game to be abandoned.

And James Collins’ side will head into the clash on a high after beating Enfield 1-0 at the weekend.

“Saturday was definitely an important win for us,” said Vaivada.

“The game was not pretty to say the least but we knew if we stuck to the basics with more intensity in our play we would eventually get our goal.”

A penalty from TQ Addy made sure of all three points for Bowers.

And Vaivada remains hungry for more.

“We want to continue this run to the end of the season and then everything else will take care of itself,” said Vaivada.

“Our main job now is winning our next game and that’s where our full focus is.

“All we’re thinking about right now is playing Brentwood.”
