BOWERS & Pitsea will have to focus on the Isthmian North play-offs following a 4-2 defeat against Walthamstow this afternoon.

Bowers raced into a two goal lead with Matt Price and Benas Vaivada on target.

But Walthamstow fought back to triumph, meaning Bowers can no longer catch Lowestoft Town who have been crowned champions.

Elsewhere, ninth placed Basildon United bagged an exciting 4-3 win at already relegated Stowmarket Town.

A frantic start saw the hosts take a first minute lead through Kalum Benham only for the Bees’ Kye Jude to equalise just seconds later.

Stanley Fovargue put Stowmarket 2-1 ahead after nine minutes but Bartlett-Antwi scored Basildon’s second equaliser of the afternoon in the 16th minute.

Jude’s second goal of the game put Basildon 3-2 in front but Dylan Kirk made it 3-3 just before the break.

The second half was less eventful but the Bees made sure of the win 11 minutes from time with Clyde Semazzi hitting the back of the net.

In the Isthmian Premier League, Billericay Town kept alive their slight hopes of play-off place with a 2-1 win at Carshalton Athletic.

Charlie Kennett put the home-side in front but Town hit back with Moses Emmanuel equalising eight minutes into the second half and Alfie Cerulli firing home the winner three minutes from time.

Billericay remain sixth in the standings, three points and one place below Horsham who occupy the final play-off place.

Horsham still have two games to play this season while Billericay have just one.

But Town’s superior goal difference means they are still in the race for promotion.

Hashtag United dropped to 12th after suffering a 2-1 defeat at Lewes.

Max Cornhill gave the Tags the lead but Lewes came back to claim all three points.

Elsewhere, Canvey Island secured their third victory in succession after winning 3-1 at Cheshunt.

Sam Higgins bagged a brace for the Gulls while Rob Girdlestone also netted as Canvey moved 14th in the table.

Already relegated Concord Rangers drew 1-1 against Whitehawk at the Aspect Arena.

Frederick Agyemang put the Beach Boys ahead five minutes into the second half but the visitors rescued a share of the spoils four minutes into stoppage time with Kai Jennings scoring.

In the Essex Senior League, Great Rovers let slip a two goal lead to lose 4-3 at Saffron Walden Town.

Max Gnandi scored twice for Wakering while Jake Gordon also netted but it was not enough to prevent defeat.

Rovers are now eighth in the table, 13 points below the play-offs with four games in hand.

White Ensign, who are 14th, lost 3-2 against Little Oakley at Burroughs Park.

Ethan Evison scored both goals for Ensign.
