BILLERICAY Town ended the Isthmian Premier Division season with an entertaining 5-3 win against Margate at New Lodge.

But it was not enough to secure Gary McCann's side a place in the play-offs.

Alfie Cerulli fired Billericay in front after just three minutes before Margate striker Steve Cawley saved a penalty saved by Town goalkeeper Dan Wilks.

Town were immediately back on top with Ollie Peters making it 2-0 in the 26th minute and, just two minutes later, Richard Asamoah, fired home a stunning 25 yard shot to put the hosts even further in front.

Bradley Stevenson put Billericay 4-0 ahead with a well-worked goal in the 33rd minute before adding another on the hour mark.

Margate hit back with goals from Mohamed Kamara, Ben Greenhalgh and Vinnie Bowman but it was too late to stop Town claiming all three points in front of a crowd of 1,404.

However, with Horsham and Wingate & Finchley both winning, Billericay ended the season in sixth - one place and three points outside the play-offs.

Hashtag United finished the season in 13th after drawing 3-3 with Cheshunt in their last home match at the Len Salmon Stadium.

The Tags twice fought back from two goals to secure a share of the spoils.

Alex Teniola scored twice before Luke May-Parrott netted an injury time leveller.

Canvey Island drew 0-0 with Hastings United to finish 14th while second from bottom Concord Rangers lost 2-0 at Horsham.
