SOUTHEND United boss Kevin Maher has been named National League manager of the season.
Maher led the Shrimpers to a ninth place finish despite a whole host of off-field issues and a 10 point deduction.
But he was keen to stress his award should be seen as an achievement for the whole club.
“Individual awards are nice but I think it’s a reflection on everyone,” said Maher.
“It’s the players, the staff and everyone connected with the club that had to dig in and work so tirelessly across the season.”
Maher was also hindered by a 15 month long transfer embargo which was only lifted in December.

He was already a Southend legend as a player 👕
Now Kevin Maher has secured his status as a manager, too! 🦐
