SOUTHEND United have missed out on signing hot-shot striker Ollie Pearce.
The 28-year-old scored 46 goals in 51 appearances in all competitions for National League South side Worthing last season.
But he has now opted to join York City.
Blues were believed to have held positive and lengthy talks with the forward in the past few weeks.
However, the Shrimpers' transfer embargo has prevented the deal from being completed.
