SOUTHEND United are working to bolster their squad after having their transfer embargo removed.
Blues boss Kevin Maher had been unable to bolster his options due to restrictions in place due to a winding up petition issued by PG Site Services and Stewarts Law.
But ,with those hearings now settled, the Shrimpers are looking into new signings and Maher is believed to have already identified two main targets.
It is understood one is a defender who lined up in League Two last season while the other is a striker.
The moves are another positive step in the right direction for Blues as the consortium close in on taking control of the club.
The deal is still being checked by lawyers but remains in a positive place.
