DRESSING DJ Gus Scott-Morriss will be doing all he can to help Southend United triumph at Barnet tomorrow– on and off the pitch.

The in-form wing-back will be looking to continue his fine start to the season after scoring twice in the first three games.

And Scott-Morriss will also help his team-mates get ready for the National League clash with his choice of music.

“I'm the dressing room DJ and there's a mix of absolutely everything in there,” said Scott-Morriss.

“We've got Bruce Springsteen for Cav (Miley) and a bit of Lil Baby in there for Collin (Andeng Ndi).

“It's all in the playlist but I've had to turn away some of the requests.

“I’ve not branched out to any weddings or anything just yet but maybe when my football finishes it might be something I go into!”

Scott-Morriss has been on song for the Shrimpers so far this season and doubled his tally for the campaign with a well-taken header in Tuesday night’s 2-0 win against Boston United.

But the 27-year-old is actually frustrated not to have more goals to his name.

“I just try and score as many as I can but I'm actually disappointed because I thought I should have done better with the chance I had at Hartlepool from the corner,” said Scott-Morriss.

“It could have been three from three but in general terms I'm buzzing with the start.

“I’m excited and want to crack on.”

Scott-Morriss also showed his excitement after scoring against Boston by dancing in front of the West Stand.

And the wing-back is continuing with a trend he started last season where celebrations are concerned.

“I like having new celebrations and ideas in my head because it keeps a positive thought in my head that I'm looking to score,” said Scott-Morriss.

“It's something I did last year which put me in good stead so I've carried it on.

“Someone just said to me can you go and do the cowboy so I tried it.

“I'm not sure whether I succeeded but I gave it a go!”

Scott-Morriss was also on a high after the final whistle.

And he remains delighted with the first victory of the season.

“It was really pleasing and we showed what we’re about” said the wing-back.

“We were playing alright but we hadn't really matched the levels from last season.

“But we were very happy with the performance and on another night I think it could have been a three or four.

“You don't always get the performance and the result to match so we're very happy."

But attention now turns to tomorrow's clash at Barnet and Scott-Morriss cannot wait to perform in front of another large away following of fans.

"It's a proper game of football this weekend and we're always thankful our fans fill out the away end there," said Scott-Morriss.

"It feels like a home game every time I've been there with Southend and I'm hoping it will be same on Saturday.

"Hopefully we can get the result for them too."
