SOUTHEND United are working on a deal to sign Aribim Pepple on loan from Luton Town.
The 21-year-old striker has previously spent time out on loan with Iverness, Bromley and Grimsby Town.
Blues boss Kevin Maher is keen to add to his strike-force ahead of Saturday’s trip to AFC Fylde with Harry Cardwell expected to move on.
The Shrimpers are also looking at a midfielder who lined up in the National League last season following an ankle injury to Oli Coker.
However, Blues are now facing competition for his signature.
