SOUTHEND United have switched training venues ahead of tomorrow’s clash at Oldham Athletic.
Shrimpers boss Kevin Maher and his players have prepared for the match at Boundary Park on their new pitches across the road from the bottom of Boots & Laces.
And centre-back Adam Crowther believes the switch is a big step in the right direction for Blues.
“It’s really good over there and really nice,” said Crowther.
“It’s been a nice surprise and the pitches are really good.
“It was quite windy yesterday but it’s a nice upgrade and I think it makes a big difference.”
The Shrimpers squad are still using Boots & Laces to change and for gym and medical work.

But Blues boss Kevin Maher has welcomed being able to use new pitches.
"It’s been good to finally get over there," said Maher.
"There’s still loads to do but Chrissy Ball and his team are working hard to really get them up to speed.
"They’re top pitches and they will be very good for the club going forwards."
