ON LOAN Southend United striker Bim Pepple will not be reflecting on his first brace in English football for long.
Pepple scored twice in Saturday’s 4-2 win at Solihull Moors.
But the striker has already switched his focus onto Tuesday night’s trip to Wealdstone.
“It was back in Canada I last scored twice in the same game so it was good to finally get that but the main thing now is backing it up,” said Pepple.
“We’re already talking about the next game and we won’t get too high about this win.
“It’s all about Tuesday now and backing it up against Wealdstone.”
The Shrimpers will head into the clash in good spirits after getting back to winning ways at Damson Park.
And Pepple was pleased to play a big part in the result.
“It was good and it was about time I got my first goal,” said the 21-year-old.
“The second came after that so I’m happy but the three points is what’s most important.”
The victory moved Blues 13th in the National League standings and Pepple was happy with the character shown by Kevin Maher’s side who went into the game having suffered back to back defeats.
“Our performances haven’t been way off it,” said Pepple.
“There have been a couple of moments with counter attacks and things like that but we knew we had to keep going and it would turn.
“When Sutton scored we felt like we crumbled a bit but we didn’t do that this time and got the win.
“We didn’t sit back and we went at them.”
Pepple played a huge part where that was concerned.
And he is relishing playing regularly with the Shrimpers.
“It’s the first time I’ve started this many games since I’ve been in England” said Pepple.
“For me I need to get the games in and as I do that I’m feeling more and more comfortable.
“I’m happy I’m showing what I can do too.”
Pepple did that alongside Macauley Bonne on Saturday and is already enjoying the strike partnership.
"I’m still young so to learn from someone who has been in pretty much all the leagues is brilliant," said Pepple.
"I’m making sure I listen and I’m learning from him every day."
