KEENAN Appiah-Forson is determined to keep on taking his chances with Southend United.
The attacking midfielder scored on his first start for the Shrimpers at Solihull Moors on Saturday.
And he is now eager to make the most of more opportunities coming his way, starting with Tuesday night's clash at Wealdstone.
“Hopefully we can get another win and if I can chip in with another goal that would be great,” said Appiah-Forson.
“But the main focus is on making sure we win and build on Saturday.
“It was a really good win but now we want more.”
Appiah-Forson sent the Shrimpers on their way with the opening goal of the game at Solihull.
And he was pleased to be selected in the starting line for the first time since signing at the end of August.
“I was delighted, firstly just to start the game, and I’d like to thank the manager for putting his trust in me,” said the 22-year-old.
“I feel like I’d been doing well when coming on so it was just about time and that’s just how football goes.
“You have to wait for your opportunity and make sure you show what you can do.
“But I got my goal and took my opportunity so I’m really happy.”
Appiah-Forson has now equalled his tally from last season which he spent on loan at Dagenham & Redbridge.
However, he feels he has more freedom to get forward with Blues.
“I do like to get forward,” said Appiah-Forson.
“In my previous team I was a bit held back and I didn’t really get up the pitch a lot but now I want to add more goals to my game.
“That’s a target for this season.
“Individually I want to stay fit and play as many games as I can.
“I want to try and get as many goals and assists as I can as well.
“I want to focus on my forward play.”
Appiah-Forson will look to do just that against Wealdstone.
And he is looking forward to again having the Shrimpers supporters cheering him on.
“Our away fans at the weekend were crazy,” said Appiah-Forson.
“I really appreciate the fans and they’re loud.
“I can always hear them singing throughout the game and we really appreciate them.”
But it is not just the fans helping Appiah-Forson to settle.
“I’m comfortable now and I’m getting into a rhythm here,” said the midfielder.
“I’m meeting new team-mates and adapting to how we play.
“I’m really enjoying it and the football is great.
“It’s more real (than under 21 football) and there’s a good atmosphere too."
