CONCORD Rangers bagged an injury time equaliser to draw 1-1 at Haringey Borough.
The Beach Boys seemed to be heading for defeat when Connor Brooks was sent off 15 minutes from time with the hosts already 1-0 in front.
But Concord hit back five minutes into stoppage time with Lewis Jaggs on target.
And the Beach Boys skipper was delighted to make it three Isthmian North League games without defeat.
“Haringey is a tough place to go on a Tuesday night and we knew we couldn’t take their league position granted as they’ve had some good results in the cup,” said Jaggs.
“Going down to 10 men isn’t ideal away from home but we showed great character to come away with a deserved point.”
The share of the spoils kept Concord sixth in the standings.
And Jaggs is pleased with how the season has been going.
“We have had a strong start to the season so far,” said Jaggs.
“We were disappointed to have been knocked out of the FA Cup and FA Trophy but hopefully our momentum in the league continues now.”
Concord will be looking to keep the good run of results going when they host 15th placed Maldon & Tiptree at the Aspect Arena this weekend.
And Jaggs is looking forward to facing his former team.
“Having spent last season as captain at Maldon obviously the game on Saturday adds an extra element to it,” said Jaggs.
“It’s going to a tough game as is every fixture this season.”
Jaggs is currently wearing the armband for Concord.
And he was thrilled to pop up with his late goal on Tuesday night.
“It’s been an honour to have captained the side the past few weeks,” said Jaggs.
“Any goal in any game is always very pleasing too but there’s something about scoring in the last minute away from home to equalise.”
Jaggs is now aiming for more glory in the months ahead and has high hopes for the remainder of the season.
“We should be targeting the play-offs at a minimum,” said Jaggs.
“But I believe with the squad we’ve got and the momentum we’re starting to pick up in the league finishing it top is not unrealistic.”
Concord have bolstered their options with the addition of Southend United midfielder Beau MacDonald who has signed on an initial month long loan deal.
However, the Beach Boys are currently without top scorer Anisius Lewis who has a knee problem.
Lewis has scored eight goals in eight games so far this season.
