SOUTHEND United head coach Kevin Maher felt Saturday’s clash with Tamworth was the right time to recall Jack Bridge.
Bridge was selected at left wing-back having started the previous three matches on the bench.
And Maher was pleased to hand Bridge his 150th appearance for his home-town club.
"We thought it was the right game for him," said Maher.
"Jack's found himself out of the team probably harshly but we've got a squad we'll use.
"We felt it was the right time for him to come into that position and we thought he would cause them problems.
"It was nice to have him back and it's brilliant for him to make 150, especially as a local player who has come through the academy.
"I'm delighted for him."
